The LC1 Chairperson for Oluwa village in Miroi parish, Kolir Sub County in Bukedea district was yesterday charged 1,500,000/= as a fine for stealing a pig belonging to one of his residents.
Mr. Arichi Simon, the Chairperson, with his counterpart identified as Bosco Ajena, also a resident in the same village, were arrested on Monday for allegedly stealing a big belonging to David Okello.
Arichi upon stealing the pig went and slaughtered it and later realized that the gilt was expecting to deliver six piglets in a few weeks’ time, a thing which raised suspicion among locals.
Andrew Ochom, one of the residents during time of ousting the accused Chairperson, said the locals ordered him to hand over the stamp to his Deputy since he has caused shame in the community.
“What the Chairman did was an abomination to our community and we had no option but to get rid of him,” said Ochom.
Ben Ilukor, the Vice Chairperson told Aica that he is ready to continue to serve as the head of the village since it is the will of the people.
